The National Dance Institute (NDI), the non-profit organization founded by former New York City Ballet star Jacques d'Amboise that has brought the study and joy of dance to 2 million New York public school children, honored Shirley Young for her support of NDI’s global activities at its April 4 Annual Gala in New York City. In 2004, Young and her U.S. China Cultural Institute (a cultural associate of the Committee of 100) organized “Dancing into the Future,” which brought the National Dance Institute to Shanghai for classes and performances. The cultural exchange between the NDI students and teachers and their Chinese peers is captured in the film, “Jacques d'Amboise in China: The Other Side of the World.” NDI has continued its dance program in China with classes this summer that target less advantaged children, including the sons and daughters of migrant laborers.
Heartful work done by Jacques d'Amboise the founder of National Dance Institute(NDI).He has encouraged many talented people in New York by organising non-profit organisation. This brings out the talent of many people who are incapable of payment such as sons and daughters of migrant labourers.
